Community participants in the design process were inspired by the concept that their neighborhood was reminiscent of a quilt— that many people come together with their individual passions, histories, and visions to create the fabric of their community.

In 2022, Westwood's Town Hall District was granted permission by the state and local governments to open a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, also known as a DORA. The Westwood DORA is a defined space at the heart of Westwood's business district, which allows people to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses and enjoy them as they shop and relax at the newly refurbished town hall park.

Beverages are sold in DORA-specific cups, which outline the DORA guidelines.

Window stickers were made to promote purchasing DORA beverages at participating businesses.

Window stickers were made for businesses to promote the DORA, provide a link to the guidelines, and communicate the hours during which the DORA was active.

DORA boundary sidewalk stickers are located at the perimeter of the DORA. Stickers were selected instead of vertical signage to minimize visual clutter and adding additional infrastructure.

Signage that indicates restricted areas within the DORA were placed at the Town Hall and children's play area.
