DESIGNATED OUTDOOR REFRESHMENT AREA
In 2022, Westwood's Town Hall District was granted permission by the state and local governments to open a Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area, also known as a DORA. The Westwood DORA is a defined space at the heart of Westwood's business district, which allows people to purchase alcoholic beverages from participating businesses and enjoy them as they shop and relax at the newly refurbished town hall park.

DORA boundary sidewalk stickers are located at the perimeter of the district. Stickers were selected instead of vertical signage to minimize visual clutter and the addition of infrastructure.

Signage for the Town Hall and children's play area indicate restricted areas within the DORA boundaries.

COMMUNITY INSPIRATION
Community participants in the design process were inspired by the concept that their neighborhood was reminiscent of a quilt—that many people come together with their individual passions, histories, and visions to create the fabric of their community.
